Removing the end of the boom
Hey all,
I have an old boat with the outhaul threaded inside the boom. I need to replace the line, but to get to the end of it I need to take off the end of the boom that fits to the mast. I've drilled out the pop rivets (pic was taken before I did it), but the fitting is tight and corroded, and won't budge.
Does anyone have any hints on how I can loosen the end up to remove it?
TIA, Barry

Re: Removing the end of the boom
Get a long bit of wood and pass it down inside the boom and hit the end with a hanner. This should overcome the corrosion problem.
