Re: Crew Age
Sailing Instructions at your local yacht club or for the Championship series you are entering will specify minimum ages. It has usually been 8 years of age.
My eldest son first sailed with me at the age of 8, and as a 10yr. old we came 4th in a Nationals. It can be done but you need a solidly built youngster and a fit father who knows how to sail. I recommend you take it easy until junior lets you know he is ready, as if you scare him off the sport you will never get him to sail again. My son is still sailing 25 years later in a Fireball.
