Re: spinager rope length
Hard to say an exact measurement with out knowing your rigging set up, and also I am not necessarily the expert on such things.

Put the spinnaker pole on to the mast and adjust its height to be 90 degrees off the mast. This would be the furtherest point forward then take a tape measure and get the distance from this point to the rear turning block. Add the distance from this block to the centre turning block and then to the centre of the boat. This should give you half the lenght you need plus a bit to spare, so double it and trim off the excess later once you are happy.

I think thats how I did my measurements couple of years ago.

Re: spinager rope length
If you want a quick and easy way to find out how long a kite sheet you need, then get some string, rig it up in the backyard (When there is no wind) use the stirng as a kite sheet, then you can play with it untill you find the length you are after. As a ball park figure, I think mine are about 18m long, but dont quote me on that!

Re: spinager rope length
My spinnaker sheet length is 14mtrs (6mm dia) & I am using an endless system. The turning blocks on the hull sides are 600mm from the transom & pole at max length, so if your blocks/pole are in a diferent posi/length U will have to compensate. This length gives my crew (5'6") enough to work with when flatout on the trap & back a bit in heavy weather.
